Connect 2019 Conference Highlights

LAKEVILLE, MINN. [August 1, 2019] - ImageTrend, Inc. 11th annual Connect Conference came to a close on Friday, July 26. The event featured more than 3 days of education, networking with peers and recognition of Hooley Award finalists and research posters. Attendees comprised of users and administrators of the company’s software solutions and hailed from 42 states.

Highlights of the conference included Wednesday’s keynote speaker Captain Michael Wright, head of Milwaukee Fire Department’s mobile integrated healthcare program, who spoke about the importance of data to prevent disease outbreaks and provide the appropriate level of care for the health of a population. Thursday’s keynote speaker was Kevin Hines, a mental health advocate who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 17 and is one of only 34 to survive jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Kevin’s message of living mentally healthy comes at a time when first responders as an industry are taking notice of the toll a high-stress career can have on one’s mental well-being and recognizing patients coming into their care who are dealing with mental illness.

The poster session, in its second year at Connect, displayed research projects from contributing attendees and their teams. Research topics included EMS response to behavioral health crisis, pre-hospital hemorrhage control and barriers to ePCR reporting.

Attendees celebrated in recognition of the Hooley Award finalists and their contributions to innovation, service to the community and pushing forward in the new frontier. One winner was selected in each category by a panel of industry leaders.

Each year ImageTrend also reveals new innovations and portions of the product roadmap. Among the new features is the ability to view historical medical device images for comparison, such as 12-lead EKG. The feature, which was released in June, allows clinicians to compare current and past waveforms for a patient and note relevant changes.

Also unveiled at Connect was the research into the Health of Our Emergency Responders: A CrewCare Report. The CrewCare report is the first report to analyze over a year’s worth of data collected from the CrewCare app. The purpose of the report was to focus on first responder mental wellbeing. The report breakdowns the factors contributing to stress, reviews thoughts on support, and looks at career burnout.

Next year’s ImageTrend Connect Conference will be July 22-24, 2020.
