Monitoring for Infectious Diseases

LAKEVILLE, MINN. [November 13, 2014] –ImageTrend, Inc. announced its EMS Service Bridge™ software has been in use for early detection and warnings of infectious disease indicators. When properly configured by the system administrator, the software prompts EMTs to ask related questions for patients presenting with symptoms such as high fever. System administrators can leverage EMS Service Bridge's existing features as part of any preparedness plan, like Good Samaritan EMS CE/QA/Technology Coordinator Patrick Sennett did.

“By using a combination of custom system-level questions and the built-in validation engine, we are able to quickly deploy tools for EMTs to fully document travel and emerging disease-related questions,” explained Sennett. “We then use scheduled reports to give us immediate and actionable information about targeted patient contacts.”

ImageTrend, Inc. President Mike McBrady commented, “ImageTrend understands the importance of your data collection and how it connects globally to provide information necessary to stop the spread of any infectious disease. The flexibility of our software goes far beyond a single disease like Ebola, and we can monitor for nearly any disease for which we understand its specific indicators.”

Additional early warning systems can be configured through ImageTrend’s STAR (Strategic Triggered Alerts and Reporting) solution, which allows you to create triggers for outbreaks such as high fever and flu-like symptoms that reach a specified threshold. Contagion can be traced with logical discovery through MARS (Mapping And Reporting System) by mapping out symptoms over time. A heat map can indicate higher incidence rates and possible areas of the spread of disease.

Current ImageTrend clients interested in configuring their system can contact the company directly through support for more information. More information is also available by contacting ImageTrend directly at 888-469-7789.
